Depression counselling
Online psychologist for depression.
An online psychologist for depression can help you understand what is keeping the low mood in place and work with you to rebuild momentum, step by step, from home. Depression is common and it is treatable, and reaching out is a genuine step forward. At AusCare, you can see a registered psychologist by secure video, anywhere in Australia, and you do not need a referral to begin.

Signs you might recognise.
Depression can feel like heaviness, exhaustion, or a loss of interest in the things that used to matter. People describe low or flat mood that lingers, tiredness that sleep does not fix, losing interest or pleasure in activities, changes in appetite or sleep, difficulty concentrating, harsh or negative thoughts about themselves, and a sense of being stuck or disconnected. You do not have to push through it on your own.

How online therapy for depression works.
Your psychologist works with you to understand what is keeping the low mood in place and to gently rebuild the things that lift it, using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. That often means re-engaging with activity and connection in manageable steps, working with the thinking patterns that feed low mood, and building skills that support your day-to-day life. Therapy can help you manage symptoms and reconnect with what matters to you, and outcomes vary from person to person. It all happens over secure video, at a pace that suits you.

What depression counselling can help with.
People come to us for support with persistent low mood, fatigue and low motivation, loss of interest or pleasure, negative and self-critical thinking, sleep and appetite changes, the low mood that can follow a loss or a major change, and the sense of being stuck. Wherever you are starting from, the aim is to help you feel more like yourself again.

What to expect in your sessions.
Your first session focuses on understanding your situation and what you would like to be different. From there, you and your psychologist set small, achievable steps and build from them, usually in fifty-minute sessions by secure video. Depression can make starting feel hard, so the early work is paced gently and designed to create momentum rather than pressure.
